Credit Card Terminal Machines For Sale
The idea of a card used for purchasing was presented in Edward Bellamy`s novel, Looking Backward. However, the modern credit card was used to sell automobile fuel in the 1920s. Some of the first charge cards were printed on paper and easily duplicated.
Therefore, the charge plate was invented. It was similar to a military dog tag. It was laid in the machine, and then paper was imprinted when an inked ribbon was pressed. The plates were kept in the merchant`s store and used when an authorized person made a purchase.
In 1950, The Diners Club produced the first charge card that could be used at many different places. It was a charge card rather than a credit card as we know it today. A charge card is one which is designed to be paid off every month; a credit card allows for revolving credit.
In 1958, Bank of American created the product which later evolved into the VISA credit card system. From then, credit cards, and ATM systems which scan them, have evolved.
